Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programmes for CNC machines, ensuring precise fabrication of components. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in fabrication and materials handling. The ideal applicant will possess a solid understanding of CAD software, tooling, and mechanical principles to optimise production efficiency and quality.
Duties
* Develop, test, and optimise CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools.
* Set up CNC machines, including selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures for various projects.
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate parts through milling and other machining processes.
* Maintain and adjust programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure smooth machine operation.
* Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly.
* Handle materials efficiently, ensuring proper handling, storage, and movement within the workshop or warehouse environment.
* Assist with assembly, welding, or fabrication tasks as required to support production goals.
* Utilise hand tools and basic maths skills to measure, mark out, and verify component dimensions.
* Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience
* Proven experience in CNC programming within a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
* Strong knowledge of milling operations, tooling selection, and materials handling procedures.
* Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programmes.
* Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes, welding, and assembly techniques.
* Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
* Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials logistics is beneficial.
* Hands-on experience with hand tools, basic maths skills for measurements, and general mechanical aptitude.
