Key Responsibilities of a graduate teaching assistant:
As a graduate teaching assistant you will be able to hit the ground running and quickly gather the skills to assist students with various special educational needs, primarily Autism.
Collaborate closely with class teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
Adapt classroom activities and resources to accommodate the diverse needs and learning styles of students with SEN, promoting their full participation and engagement in the curriculum.
Offer one-on-one support to students with SEN, providing assistance with academic tasks and social interactions.Qualifications and Skills required to work as a graduate teaching assistant:
Some relevant and transferrable experience working with individuals with SEN or disabilities preferred or supporting children academically.
A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
