This is an exciting time to join the Pathology team in Dorset. We are currently making great progress with our vision to create a first class integrated pathology service for Dorset.
Staff will be able to develop to their full potential and substantial investment has been agreed, offering opportunities for service development and state-of-the-art modernisation.
Responsibilities
* To assist in the organisation of and participate in the work of the Biochemistry Section, in accordance with the departmental policies, protocols and quality standards.
* The post holder will be expected to support the service working shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Person Specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
* HCPC State registration in Biochemistry
* Evidence of involvement in ongoing training and development relevant to the post.
Knowledge & Experience
* Evidence of working independently or as part of a team.
* Experience of working in a UKAS Biochemistry accredited laboratory.
Skills & Abilities
* Evidence of knowledge of manual and automated techniques within Biochemistry.
* Be able to speak English as necessary to undertake role.
* Evidence of working within Specimen reception/preparation areas.
* Evidence of work planning and time management.
* Evidence of communicating effectively.
* Evidence of flexible approach to working patterns and hours.
* Evidence of working with Laboratory computer systems.
