We are inviting applications from dentists with a keen interest in Special Care Dentistry to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team. This fixed-term position, offered as maternity cover for one year, involves providing comprehensive dental care to both adults and children with additional needs.
The Special Care Dental Service is part of a countywide service providing NHS Dental treatment to patients on referral, operating Mondays to Fridays, 08:30am to 4:30pm.
The post is based at St. Richard's Hospital, Chichester and includes delivery of domiciliary care. Full GDC registration and immediate eligibility for a performer number are essential.
Successful applicants will be invited for interview.
Main duties of the job
1. Treating patients as individuals, showing them concern and respect and providing them or their carers (where appropriate) with clear information about their treatment, participating in epidemiological surveys as required.
2. Screening client groups as required.
3. Domiciliary visits.
4. Referring patients to other dental professionals as appropriate.
5. Supporting senior colleagues with the treatment of patients under general anaesthetic.
