About The Role
* Act as a technical contact on customer‑facing projects, translating requirements and providing technical support; integrate and customise the existing codebase into customer‑specific orchestration frameworks, building and parameterising automated customer pipelines for battery analytics.
* Produce business‑relevant, actionable battery insights using a deep understanding of both battery electrochemistry and systems integration.
* Assess the validity of results and identify anomalous outcomes; manage and lead junior team members and deliver technical delivery of select customer projects.
* Collaborate with the broader cloud team in developing the Elysia Battery Intelligence Cloud Platform, generalising customer‑specific algorithms into customer‑agnostic solutions that yield actionable insights into performance, safety, and reliability across diverse battery types.
What you will do
* Implement and adapt Elysia cloud battery algorithms to evaluate performance, lifetime, and safety of batteries in live operating environments.
* Translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
* Perform initial evaluations of datasets to propose solutions to customer challenges.
* Ensure validity of automated outputs and identify anomalous results in large datasets.
* Support customers in interpreting the results of Elysia products.
* Understand the limitations of technical implementations and coordinate stakeholders during technical delivery.
* Lead technical delivery of select customer projects while aligning with Elysia’s wider cloud product strategy.
About You
* 5+ years of experience in data science/data engineering.
* Master’s level qualification in a STEM subject.
* Strong experience with Python and its numerical & scientific ecosystem (numpy, scipy, pandas, polars).
* Experience in the battery domain (electrothermal modelling, state estimation, diagnostics).
* Experience in automotive and/or BESS sectors.
* Experience coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience with version control and CI/CD frameworks (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
* Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure).
* Ability to work largely independently.
* Ability to prioritise tasks for timely customer delivery.
* Experience working with large datasets.
* Experience in supervisory or line management positions.
* Ability to discuss technical topics with non‑technical customer representatives.
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing customer demands.
Beneficial
* Understanding of physics‑based battery models (DFN, SPM, etc.).
* Familiarity with data pipelines and database management.
* Experience with orchestration and automation frameworks.
* PhD in a STEM subject.
* Experience with MATLAB.
