Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient/donor care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
The Post:
The Donor & Transport Services (D&TS) Department is responsible for the planning and provision of adequate supplies of safe, high quality blood components for NHS Scotland in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the multidisciplinary Service and Quality Improvement Specialist Function (SQI) within D&TS. The principal function of the SQI Team is to support and implement both large and smaller scale change projects and improvements effectively, whilst maintaining regulatory compliance, consistent standards, identifying and participating in training delivery of training programs as necessary.
The Candidate:
We are seeking applications from a First Level Registered Nurse with experience at a senior level. You will have a Master’s Degree or be able to demonstrate working at Masters level. You must have proven clinical and leadership skills with evidence of ongoing professional development working within the competencies framework.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to:
• Foster a culture of openness and enquiry, supporting the delivery, development and implementation of evidence based continuous / quality improvement initiatives to ensure a professional service to donors and patients.
• Lead responsibility in the delivery and development of improved performance.
• Lead for change control management for D&TS.
• Contribute to scope of training needs and training packages for the area.
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements providing expert advice.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in quality improvement and change management. The post requires individuals to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational, forward planning and problem solving abilities are also essential. You will be self-motivated, proactive and an innovative individual with the ability to be flexible and react positively to on-going changing demands and priorities.
