JOB TITLE: Finance SAP Specialist (BBC Extend); JOB BAND: D; CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Full-time; DEPARTMENT: BBC Technology Group; LOCATION: London (Broadcasting House) or Cardiff Central Square, Hybrid 2 days per week in office; PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £65,000 - £70,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. Flexible working will be discussed at offer stage. Purpose of the Role
Join the BBC’s Technology & Media Operations team to help shape the future of our corporate systems. In this role, you’ll influence strategy and drive innovation across finance platforms, focusing on SAP and partner solutions. You’ll contribute to delivering and managing complex technical changes and optimising systems to maximise value and align with BBC business goals. Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Contribute to a technical roadmap for systems and services within their scope
* Acting as a Co-ordinator for Small/Medium technical changes, clarifying requirements submitted by BBC Business Users and managing a change process followed by an outsourced technology provider, including Documentation Review, Technical Build, Testing Cycles, Production Deployment and Post Go-Live support
* Acting as a trusted team member for larger projects with technical change elements, working closely with Project Management and Project Stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes
* Building relationships with Internal and External stakeholders, offering support and influence focussed on best practice, achievable goals
* Working with Outsourced Technology partners and Internal Stakeholders to support the resolution of Incidents at varied severity levels
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Extensive experience and system specialist for Finance modules of SAP ECC and S/4 and other Finance related systems, including understanding how best-practice configurations align with business processes and providing guidance to a wide range of technical and functional stakeholders, including expertise in translating project, user and product requirements into technical solutions
* Experience with the following software: SAP Finance and Controlling, SAP ECC6 and S/4, detailed SAP integration knowledge with SD, MM, BW & HR, Intercompany, Tax, Financial Statement processes and integration
* Experience reviewing Technical and Functional Documentation, identifying and revising based on SAP best practice, quality, clarity and completeness
* Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels, translating and imparting technical concepts into audience relevant information, including leading on requirements gathering with the business process owners and presenting solution options that align with BBC Engineering Strategies
* Able to work in a small team, showing evidence of dealing with complex technical issues, dealing with multiple priorities, managing conflict and using influencing skills to ensure that projects/assignments are properly commissioned and delivered into the business
Desirable
* Experience with the following software: SAP S/4 Hana (FI/CO), Treasury, SAP Netweaver Portal, SAP Fiori, Concur, SAP Signavio, SAP Joule, SAP Walkme, Workiva, One Source, Kyriba, Taxually, Blackline, BTP
* Understanding of media specific requirements relating to an organisation financial operation e.g. Production Accounting
* Understanding the necessity of security, access control and segregation of duties in system design
* Ability to write and communicate complex technology solutions in a clear and coherent way
* Financial Accountancy qualifications e.g. ACCA
