Job Description:
Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Electrical Engineer with a leading international multi-disciplinary design consultancy in Central London. The team includes MEP (30 members), Environmental Design & Sustainability, VT, and Architectural Design Lighting. The role may involve travel due to involvement in high-profile, prestigious projects worldwide across various sectors.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent the company professionally at all times.
2. Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, design teams, authorities, utilities, and related organizations.
3. Attend meetings with clients, project teams, and contractors.
4. Deliver detailed engineering designs for electrical building services and power distribution systems, including calculations, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
5. Manage projects from inception through post-construction.
6. Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and regulations.
7. Record continuing professional development (CPD) in line with professional institution requirements.
8. Ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
9. Support and contribute to team efforts and initiatives.
10. Promote and integrate equity, diversity, & inclusion (EDI) into all workstreams.
Qualities and Skills:
Required:
* Chartered Engineer or working towards CEng within 6 months, with a degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services (2:1 or higher).
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in building design engineering within the UK and internationally.
* Proven ability to design electrical building services systems and rationalize proposals.
* Experience as Lead Electrical Engineer on projects with construction values over £30M, from concept to construction, including construction administration.
* Knowledge of low carbon design principles.
* Experience mentoring junior engineers.
* Legal right to work in the country of employment.
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
* Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently and in teams.
* Good project management skills with financial acumen.
* Experience in sectors like Education, Hospital, Retail, Airport, Stadia, High-rise Commercial.
* Second language skills are desirable.
* Specialist knowledge in areas such as Lighting, Vertical Transportation, IT Infrastructure, Security, Acoustic, HV/MV, Lightning, UPS, Fire Protection, BIM.
* Proficiency in tools like Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Microstation, Rhino, Dialux, Relux, Radiance, and Microsoft Office suite.
