We are currently recruiting for a Team Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking local authoritymitted to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families. The Assessment Team plays a crucial role in responding to referrals, undertaking assessments, and ensuring timely and effective interventions.
Your new role
As a Team Manager, you will lead a busy and fast-paced Assessment Team, providing strong leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality practice and decision-making. You will be responsible for managing performance, supporting staff development, and ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading and managing a team of social workers and practitioners
2. Overseeing the allocation and progression of referrals and assessments
3. Ensuring timely and robust decision-making in safeguarding and child protection cases
4. Supporting staff through supervision, coaching, and reflective practice
5. Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver effective interventions
6. Contributing to service development and continuous improvement
What you'll need to succeed
7. A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
8. Extensive experience in children’s social care, particularly in assessment and safeguarding
9. Proven leadership and management skills
10. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, thresholds, and statutory guidance
11. Excellentmunication, analytical, and organisational skills
12. Amitment to high standards of practice and improving oues for children
