Senior Buyer – Civil Engineering / Construction Location: Havant Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Overview We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a well-established civil engineering and construction business. Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, this role will play a key part in managing the supply chain, supporting the Procurement Team, and ensuring materials, plant, and services are procured efficiently, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities * Source new and alternative materials, suppliers, and subcontractors * Meet with supplier representatives and negotiate commercial terms and rates * Maintain strong communication with internal departments, particularly Contracts and Estimating * Support Buyers in procuring materials, services, plant, and equipment from procurement schedules * Extract global material requirements from tender documentation * Produce cost/value reports and life-cycle cost analysis for Senior Management * Arrange the transfer of materials and plant between sites and Head Office when required * Provide market-competitive procurement solutions delivering best overall value for money * Obtain quotations for specified materials and alternatives for Estimators, negotiating best prices * Ensure all quotes comply with specifications, delivery requirements, and QHSE standards * Assist the...
