Maintenance Engineer – Shift (Days & Nights)
This business has been part of almost every household for years. Which means you’re not walking into some shaky start-up — you’re joining a stable, progressive FMCG giant that’s big on quality, investment, and actually looking after its people.
Your job? Keep production moving, downtime low, and standards high. You’ll be knee-deep in automation, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting — and just as importantly, you’ll be spotting improvements that actually make a difference instead of filling out a suggestion form that disappears into a drawer.
What you’ll be doing:
Fault-finding and fixing electrical, mechanical, and automation issues mid-shift.
Proactive and reactive maintenance (because “wait and see” is how things break).
Driving improvement projects to boost plant performance.
Supporting OEE, cutting downtime, and keeping the place safe.
Coaching operators and junior engineers so they don’t break things in the first place.
Building a culture of pride, performance, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll need:
Time-served apprenticeship with an electrical bias.
Calm under pressure and good at explaining things without sounding like a textbook.
Comfortable coaching others and being the technical go-to.
Solutions-focused and not afraid to challenge “we’ve always done it this way.”
What’s in it for you:
Company pension scheme with up to 10% employer contribution.
Life assurance.
Wellbeing support — including counselling and financial advice.
Salary finance and cycle-to-work schemes.
Retail discounts with hundreds of outlets.
Full induction and ongoing training.
If you want a role where you’re trusted to solve problems, supported to improve, and part of a team that gets things done
