Are you ready for a varied Consultant Psychiatrist role in an established CAMHS service? Join our Phoenix House CAMHS team at Wokingham Community Hospital, a Tier 4 alternative to admission service. We support up to 16 young people with severe mental health challenges, helping them stay in their community as day patients.
Main Duties of the Job
* Provide psychiatric leadership and direct clinical care for children and young people within Phoenix House CAMHS.
* Deliver assessments, diagnosis and evidence‑based interventions across a range of mental health conditions.
* Collaborate closely with community CAMHS, Rapid Response and other partner agencies to prevent inpatient admissions.
* Participate in weekly MDT meetings, quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
* Contribute to teaching, training and supervision of junior medical and multidisciplinary staff.
Qualifications and Person Specification
* Full GMC registration with licence to practice and specialist registration (or will have within six months).
* Approved clinician status under the Mental Health Act (or able to achieve within 3 months).
* Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, including management of complex cases.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Excellent knowledge in specialty.
* Excellent clinical skills using a bio‑psycho‑social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Desirable
* Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
