About the Role
The primary school in Wokingham is seeking a passionate and dedicated EAL Assistant with a focus on English as an Additional Language (EAL) to support KS1/KS2 students. The successful candidate will help create a positive learning environment and assist students in achieving their full potential in mastering English.
Qualifications
* Hold a bachelor’s degree (2:2 or above).
* Experience working with KS1/KS2 children or in an educational setting.
* Experience working with EAL students (preferred).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with EAL students.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Provide EAL support in small groups and 1:1 sessions.
* Assist with the general pastoral care of KS1/KS2 EAL students.
* Promote positive values, attitudes, and good pupil behaviour.
* Encourage inclusion of all students in school activities.
* Support KS1/KS2 teachers with monitoring progress.
* Assist in planning and delivering learning activities.
* Support students' educational and social development by modelling positive behaviour and high expectations.
