The firm focuses on complex, multi‑jurisdictional matters in sectors such as insurance, marine, natural resources, energy, projects, construction and aviation.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Process two UK payrolls from start to completion of each new pay period.</li><li>Collaborate with payroll colleagues to meet deadlines.</li><li>Ensure current starters and leavers are processed promptly and accurately.</li><li>Prepare manual calculations when necessary.</li><li>Calculate and process statutory payment calculations.</li><li>Prepare and transmit BACS files according to monthly deadlines.</li><li>Process annual P11Ds.</li><li>Handle pension responsibilities including auto‑enrolment, monthly assessments and contribution payments, opt‑ins and opt‑outs.</li><li>Process monthly journal entries for Finance and assist with payroll GL reconciliation.</li><li>Complete year‑end processes and generate required reports.</li><li>Make HMRC, third‑party and ad‑hoc employee payments.</li><li>Respond to employee queries via phone, email, face‑to‑face or MS Teams.</li><li>Coordinate with HR and Finance as required.</li><li>Assist payroll colleagues during annual audits.</li><li>Provide feedback and participate in process improvement.</li><li>Maintain the monthly task list and payroll manual.</li><li>Take on additional work as required as the role evolves.</li></ul><h3>Essential Skills & Experience</h3><ul><li>Strong payroll knowledge including manual tax and NIC calculations, statutory leave (SMP, ShPP).</li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Proactive initiative and effective query resolution.</li><li>Relationship building within HR, Finance and across the firm.</li><li>High attention to detail and effective multitasking.</li><li>Strict confidentiality adherence.</li><li>Advanced computer skills, including Excel (VLookups, logical formulas, pivot tables) and quick learning of new software.</li><li>Calm and effective under pressure, meeting all deadlines.</li><li>Responsive to instructions and customer service orientation.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication.</li><li>Willingness to grow into the role and adapt as required.</li></ul><h3>Business Services Competencies</h3><ul><li>Technical Excellence</li><li>People and Team</li><li>Client/Stakeholder Relationships</li><li>Service Delivery and Commercial Awareness</li><li>Personal Effectiveness</li></ul><h3>Equal Opportunities</h3><p>Clyde & Co is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
