An opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Assessment Unit. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse to join our team.
Crisis services (which includes Braeside, MHAT, OOH's triage, night NTL's & OOH's CPN's) are currently going through organisational change. You will be part of the current service developments aiming to enhance the crisis service. Some of the developments are; on-site assessments (within persons locality/home) as well as joint working with SAS, Police Scotland again for joint response/ onsite assessments.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of knowledge with regards assessment of major mental illness/ distress. You will be required to work autonomously and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and be able to demonstrate the ability to make sound clinical decisions.
The post holder will be required to assess mental state and relevant risks including suicide, self harm and violence within the framework of wider holistic assessments. Assessments may on occasion be nurse led, others conducted jointly with medical colleagues. These assessments include police S297 assessments. The team also provide a 24/7 triage service to Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service & NHS24 .
You will be expected to work a 24 hour shift pattern.
