Part-time | Mornings Mon-Fri | Term Time Only Prospero Teaching is searching for a compassionate, dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support a Year 6 pupil experiencing EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance). This role is based within a school setting, offering the chance to make a genuine impact on a young person's confidence, learning and wellbeing. Start date: ASAP As a Prospero Tutor, you will: - ✏️ Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions tailored to the learner's needs. - Assess and monitor progress, offering constructive feedback and encouragement. - Record student progress and provide clear weekly reports. - Build a trusting relationship by showing empathy, understanding and consistency. - ⏱️ Record attendance accurately. - Bring creativity, adaptability and organisation to every session. - Maintain a calm, fair and patient approach at all times. We're looking for someone who is: - ✔️ Experienced working with young people in UK schools (minimum 1 year - essential) - ✔️ Confident delivering Maths and English at primary level - ✔️ Calm, reliable, empathetic and resilient - ✔️ Skilled at building rapport and inspiring learners - ✔️ Experienced with SEN/SEMH learners (desirable, not essential) - ✔️ Understanding of EBSA or alternative provision approaches - Position: 1:1 Tutor - Start: ASAP - Location: DT6 area - Hours: ~10 per week (mornings Mon-Fri) - Further hours: Opportunities to take on additional students - Contract: Term-time only, ongoing To be considered, you must: - Have the right to work in the UK - ️ Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one) - Provide professional references - Have up-to-date safeguarding training (or be willing to complete it) If you're passionate about helping young people thrive and want a role where you can truly make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
