Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking to recruit a HR Business Partner to work for globally known & well established manufacturer in the Thornbury area of Bristol.

PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A TEMPORARY TO PERMANENT ROLE!!

Job Scope:

To support the business by delivering a highly effective HR business partnering service. To plan, implement and evaluate the company's HR strategies to ensure these initiatives are aligned to support the business objectives and support a designated geographic area. You will also be required to attend quartely meetings at any one of their sites, so this could be in Nottingham, Birmingham, London, Thornbury or Caphilly.

Main Responsibilties:

* Manage the provision of day to day HR advice to employees and line managers in keeping with current legislation and best practice and drawing on past professional experience in order to deliver an effective HR Business Partnering role.
* Support and coach line managers to ensure they are effective within their line management role. Able to challenge line managers where appropriate to ensure that they maintain Company standards and develop and improve the necessary skills in a supportive environment
* Manage the process with regards to any ER issues as they develop, including any disciplinary, grievance and absence issues, ensuring that appropriate investigations are undertaken
* Work with HR colleagues to manage the implementation of local engagement strategies and deal with appropriate action plans
* Work closely with line managers to determine the most appropriate means by which to ensure full departmental manning, taking into account team capabilities and needs
* Manage the recruitment processes as necessary to ensure these skills gaps and departmental requirements are met effectively and efficiently
* Identify where improvements to procedures/processes will improve the smooth running of the department and aid the business
* Support L&D implementation, including delivery of key training sessions where required
* Take an active part in the wider activities of the HR team and contribute fully to projects and the performance and objectives of the department
* Complete forms and processes in an an accurate and timely manner to ensure that the HR system data is accurate, ensuring the timely accuracy and integrity of employee and payroll data
* Work with the HR Shared Service Centre so that all HR administration processes including new starters, maternity and paternity, probation reviews, employment changes, leavers, exit interviews and other information is processed appropriately
* Supporting continuous improvements to HR policies, processes, letters, templates and forms
* Preparing monthly and ad hoc management information reports
* Any other reasonable duties as requested

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

* To work in line with duty of care to self/others and ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed in line with company policy
* To protect the health and safety of visitors / contractors / external providers brought to site and ensure relevant H&S guidelines are meant
* To bring to the attention of the business hazards, risks, concerns, accidents or near misses
* Comply with any local PPE requirements

Environmental Responsibilities:

* To work in line with Environmental & energy policies
* To ensure visitors / contractors / external providers meet relevant environmental procedures while on site
* To bring to the attention of the business environmental hazards, risks and concerns

What we need from you

* Significant experience of working within a customer facing HR role or environment
* CIPD qualification would be desirable
* Experience of operating at a similar level as a HRBP or Senior HR Advisor
* Strong knowledge of current employment legislation
* An organised approach to be able to work with a multitude of managers from diverse backgrounds, whilst establishing trust and integrity
* Excellent communication skills, approachable and good at forming and developing relationships with people of all levels across the business
* Flexible with an ability to prioritise own workload within a busy environment to meet deadlines
* Strong attention to detail with an ability to multi-task
* PC literate and comfortable using different applications (experience with SAP HCM/SuccessFactors would be beneficial)
