We are looking to recruit a Principal Clinical Psychologist at Band 8a (or Band 7 with preceptorship opportunity) to work in the Fareham & Gosport Older People's Mental Health CMHTs for 22.5 hours per week. You will automatically be considered for other equivalent posts within OPMH.
Gosport is in the Portsmouth and South East (PSE) Hampshire Division of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Regular clinical supervision will be provided and we also meet monthly, as a group, for neuropsychological supervision. There are close working relationships with Adult Mental Health Services and the University of Southampton, which is the base for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course. There are opportunities to be involved in teaching Trainee Clinical Psychologists, for collaboration with other professionals and academic staff, and participation in research. It is possible some travel may be required.
Main duties of the job
The responsibilities will include the provision of psychological assessment (including neuropsychology) and therapy to older people in the community and clinic, to be a source of advice to the multi-professional team on psychological issues and to offer consultation and advice to other mental health and physical health professionals. Supervision of a Trainee Clinical Psychologist and contribution to service development will also be required. Candidates who have an interest in neuropsychology will have an opportunity to develop these skills further. Psychological input is highly valued and regarded by both services.

* DClinPsy or DCounsPsy including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
