This is key to enabling us to deliver on the promises we\\\'ve made to the people of Wales to build a sustainable transport network that meets their needs.Role responsibilities The Principal Engineer is responsible for leading the overall technical assurance process across a portfolio of Transport for Wales (TfW) Infrastructure projects and will lead the development of engineering governance strategies and manage engineering teams to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. Lead a multi-disciplined engineering team to manage governance and technical assurance to safeguard investment by ensuring delivered infrastructure projects are safe, interoperable, technically compliant and are delivered to the specified quality within constraints of time and cost. Manage the transfer of assets from projects to the Infrastructure Manager through monitoring engineering compliance to provide asset longevity and ensure the supplied product is fit for purpose and maintainable in the future. Demonstrate Infrastructure projects have been delivered against the appropriate compliance by liaising with the Infrastructure Operator, the Rail Safety and Standards Board, the Office of Rail and Road, and regulatory bodies to ensure the correct legislation is adhered to. Provide senior technical representation and expertise through high-level meetings and contact points to support all stakeholders Who we\\\'re looking for Demonstrable experience of leading teams on large, high value, and complex capital infrastructure projects. Experience of managing a technical assurance process on major projects throughout its full project lifecycle. Core knowledge of Building and Civils, Track, Signalling, Telecoms and Electrification and Plant disciplines. Thorough knowledge of the key roles under CDM and how they influence project activities. Welsh Language Skills The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
