About the Company
Our client has been at the forefront of technical innovation for over 50 years and is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of scientific instrumentation. Due to growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Systems Development Engineer who will be responsible for complex customer projects from conception to design, development, validation, product compliance, and design release.
Role Overview
This is a comprehensive Mechanical Systems Development Engineer role, involving all aspects of the design lifecycle. It is well-suited for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on and is not afraid to engage in manufacturing troubleshooting.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an engineer with a Mechanical or Physics background, possessing 2-5 years of industry experience in design, R&D, or production engineering roles.
Key Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of 2 years experience in product design and development, preferably related to systemized products.
* Knowledge of developing design and product specifications (desirable).
* Familiarity with FMEA, risk/hazard analysis, What If, HazOp (desirable).
* Experience in developing products and sub-assemblies.
* Ability to analyze and fault-find on complex systems.
* Experience in creating verification and validation methods (desirable).
* Capability to develop, document, and control detailed processes and guide technicians during build and testing.
* Support for design reviews focusing on Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Service.
* Knowledge of modular design and system configuration.
* Experience in designing for high product reliability and ease of servicing.
* Experience with validation and product testing.
* Knowledge of fault analysis techniques such as 8D and 5 Whys.
* Experience in Engineering Change processes.
