How It Works
This is a retainer service:
* No need to remain on site constantly.
* You should be within 60 minutes travel time of the site.
* Attend within 60 minutes if called, with average calls lasting 60-75 minutes once on site.
What you will do
* Conduct autonomous clinical assessments to determine detainees’ fitness for detention, transfer, or release.
* Deliver treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, escalating care as necessary.
* Perform forensic examinations and gather specimens.
* Provide assessment and support for individuals with mental health concerns, safeguarding issues, drug or alcohol withdrawal, or learning disabilities.
* Ensure compliance with PACE legislation (Code C) and professional governance standards.
Requirements
* Registered Adult Nurse or Paramedic with relevant HCPC/NMC registration.
* At least 2 years post-qualification experience ideally from A&E, Prison, Surgical, or Community Nursing backgrounds.
* ILS certification from the Resuscitation Council.
* Trained in venepuncture.
* Level 3 Safeguarding Adults & Children qualification.
* Confident in making autonomous decisions.
