Job Summary
This post is an exciting opportunity for a qualified driver. Our transport drivers use a wide range of Trust vehicles, including electric tugs, tail lift box vans, and shuttle buses, to provide support to clinical and non-clinical teams. This position allows the successful applicant to gain experience with various vehicles and expand their knowledge and connections within the Trust.
This role is suitable for drivers who can work safely, courteously, and confidentially while following Trust Policy. We provide pre-determined routes in fully equipped vehicles. Before starting their journey, the job holder must comply with safety checks and ensure their vehicle is fueled.

Minimum Requirements
It is essential that applicants hold a Valid Certificate of Professional Competence and a Valid Passenger Carrying Vehicle Licence. It is desirable for drivers to hold a C1 Classification on their licence.
The transport driver must be helpful and respectful to patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining confidentiality at all times. They will maintain high-quality standards and conduct themselves professionally, sharing best practices to promote and improve the transport service.
The post will include the movement of employees, beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs around hospital sites, as well as items such as furniture, post, specimens, patient notes, medical records, and procurement store items.
As required, the post holder may work shifts in any area/location of the Trust and may be asked to carry out duties in other departments within the Facilities Directorate.

Person Specification
Qualifications
1. Must hold a UK driving licence (PCV / LGV) with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
2. Holder of the Driver's Certificate of Professional Competence.
3. NVQ level 2 or relevant experience in road transport operations; basic literacy and numeracy skills.
4. Dangerous goods awareness; Basic Life Support (BLS).
Experience
1. Able to work as a team member.
2. Experience working on various shift patterns.
3. Experience dealing with the public and ability to work under pressure.
4. Previous experience in a transport environment.
5. Organizational skills and safe use of spillage kits; awareness of ADR regulations.
6. Previous experience working within an NHS organization.
Additional Criteria
Able to work weekends/nights and cover shifts for flexibility.
