The Opportunity
We’re building a high‑performance Engineering team of 50+ engineers. As Director of Engineering, you’ll set the technical vision and lead multiple high‑impact squads that power our Core Product, the foundation that drives 9fin’s customer experience.
What you’ll work on
* Provide strategic & technical leadership over Core Product engineering teams, aligning with company objectives.
* Develop and scale high‑performing, cross‑functional teams that deliver resilient, maintainable, and scalable systems.
* Set the long‑term technical vision, driving architectural decisions that enable future growth.
* Partner with senior product, design, and business leaders to align investments with customer value.
* Foster a culture of excellence through mentorship, standard‑setting, and championing robust engineering practices.
* Empower Engineering Leads and senior ICs to grow their leadership and technical reach.
* Own hiring of top engineering talent, partnering with VP Engineering and People & Talent.
* Lead large‑scale initiatives and programs across teams, ensuring delivery, performance, and sustainability.
* Oversee technical operations and incident response, ensuring high reliability and learning from incidents.
* Prioritise systemic improvements to engineering velocity, platform reliability, and developer experience.
About You
* Seasoned engineering leader with a deep technical background and proven ability to lead multiple teams in high‑growth environments.
* Demonstrated success in defining, owning, and executing technical strategy, scaling systems, and aligning investments with long‑term goals.
* Strong organisational design skills, experienced in structuring and evolving high‑performing, cross‑functional engineering orgs.
* Strategic thinker with a keen product and platform sense, balancing user experience, architecture, and resilience.
* Excellent communicator and executive collaborator, skilled at influencing across engineering, product, design, and leadership.
* Committed to cultivating a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement across technical and people domains.
* Known for developing senior engineering talent, building succession plans, and empowering leaders to scale their impact.
* Track record of driving operational maturity, reliability, and sustainable technical innovation in a growing organisation.
