The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure data solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role is fully remote within the UK and is open to professionals at varying levels of experience, from early-career engineers to senior specialists. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and architectures on AWS Implement and manage ETL/ELT processes using AWS-native and open-source technologies Build and optimise data lakes, data warehouses, and analytical platforms Ensure high standards of data quality, integrity, security, and performance Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data workflows and platform reliability Apply best practices for cloud governance, cost optimisation, and security Produce and maintain clear technical documentation Required Skills 1 15 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a related role Strong hands-on experience with AWS Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation Advanced SQL skills for data querying and optimisation Experience with Apache Spark / PySpark Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and pipeline design Experience working with large-scale datasets in cloud environments Familiarity with CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) Experience with streaming data technologies (Amazon Kinesis, Kafka) Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools (Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions) Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB) AWS certifications (Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Developer) Experience working in regulated or GDPR-compliant environments
