SEN Teaching Assistant

Our large SEN school in Haywards Heath is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require tailored support in their learning journey.
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-time)
Location: Haywards Heath
Start Date: Asap
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one and group support to children with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and encouragement in their educational development.
2. Assist teachers in implementing tailored learning strategies and lesson plans.
3. Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.
4. Help with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources and materials.
5. Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment for all students.
Requirements:
6. Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
7. A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with children.
8. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
9. A proactive and flexible attitude to meet the diverse needs of the children.
10. Due to the rural location of the school, it is essential that you drive and have access to your own transport.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
20. GCSE’s or equivalent
21. Minimum 1 year working with children
22. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
Eligibility
23. Hold Right to Work in the UK
24. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
25. Provide two professional child related references
