Training Programme Director – Pathology Infectious Diseases

Job Summary
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director in Pathology Infectious Diseases, working on a secondment arrangement to NHS England.
Main Duties of the Job
* Provide effective clinical and educational leadership.
* Lead delivery of a wide range of functions aligned to the NHS England mandate.
* Improve learner supervision, assessment and experience.
* Engage faculty, ensure effective educational outcomes, and support workforce transformation.
* Develop multi‑professional links and innovative curriculum delivery.
* Support the Postgraduate Dean and coordinate with staff across the geographic area.
* Ensure high standards of education and training per national bodies.
* Adhere to budget requirements and national policies for educational quality management.
* Maintain Code of Practice guidelines and give accurate guidance to trainees.
Engaging People / Key Working Relationships
* Postgraduate Dean, Head of School, staff at all levels.
* Practices and schemes, associate and deputy deans.
* Clinical faculty, other Heads of Schools.
* Other Training Programme Directors where appropriate.
* Royal Colleges, professional and regulatory bodies.
* Wider stakeholder network, local medical and dental schools.
* Providers and commissioners across the region.
* Directors of Education, higher educational institutions.
Qualifications
* Primary medical qualification or on the Specialist Register.
* Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, Professional Association and/or Regulatory Body.
Experience
* Experience working with learners or doctors in training within an educational context.
* Experience in clinical and educational leadership.
* Demonstrable track record of service and education delivery.

Contract Details
Contract: Secondment. Working pattern: Part‑time. Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff. Grade: Consultant. Salary: Depending on experience in line with TPD sessional payments.
