Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services with an emphasis on vascular imaging and vascular intervention
* Undertake a range of general radiology work as required through agreed job planning
* Perform vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures. Applicants with interest or expertise in oncological IR (vascular or non-vascular) are welcomed
* Support development of a regional interventional oncology service, enabling delivery of ablative and chemo-embolisation treatments in North Wales
* Participate in the radiology on-call rota
* Access overnight outsourcing and home teleradiology support
* Contribute to ongoing discussions surrounding the establishment of a North Wales IR on-call service
* Teach and supervise radiology trainees, undergraduate medical students, and other healthcare professionals
* Contribute to departmental learning programmes and support continuing professional development within the team
* Contribute to management of clinical risk, including monitoring and reviewing clinical incidents
* Adhere to complaints and litigation policies
* Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping
* Participate fully in audit, quality assurance, and clinical governance activities
* Engage in service development and quality improvement programmes
* Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with information governance requirements
* Contribute to a safe working environment and promote a positive culture
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* FRCR or equivalent
* On the GMC Specialist Register in Radiology
Experience
* Experience in cross sectional imaging
* Ability to do on call commitments
* Experience in vascular and non-vascular intervention/imaging
* Vascular and non-vascular interventional skills
Ability
* Commitment to team approach and multi-disciplinary working
* Evidence of ability to work both in a team and alone.
* Counselling and communication skills
* Ability to work on call
Management and Clinical Governance
* Commitment to participating in and understanding of the management process
* An understanding of the strategic and operational issues underpinning Clinical Governance, their application in daily practice and how this can be evidenced
* An understanding of NHS management processes
* A willingness to attend and actively participate in the departmental management meetings
* Evidence of management training
Audit and Research
* Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice. Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance.
