What the job involves
- Amazon is seeking a strategic communications professional to join its International Stores Communications Hub (ISCH) team based in London, UK
- This role supports Amazon's Stores business across countries and regions outside the US - spanning Europe, Middle East, Latin America, and APAC
- As part of a central hub team, you will develop centralised communications strategies, messaging, and playbooks while partnering with in-country comms teams across up to 29 countries to localise and deliver programmes at scale
- You will work across some of Amazon's most customer‑facing Stores priorities – from Global Shopping Events (such as Prime Day, Black Friday) to selection (Fashion, Beauty, Everyday Essentials, and more) and AI shopping innovations
- You will manage both proactive and reactive communications, build mechanisms to coordinate international programmes efficiently, and provide strategic counsel to senior leaders
- This role requires close collaboration with US‑based and in‑country based comms counterparts, cross‑functional teams (Marketing, Category, Product), and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across geographies and organisational boundaries
- Develop centralised communication (PR) strategies, messaging, narratives, and campaign playbooks for priority Stores topics that can be localised across diverse regions
- Partner with in‑country communication teams across Europe, LATAM, MENA, and APAC to localise and execute communications programmes, ensuring consistency while allowing for country‑level relevance
- Serve as subject matter comms expert for assigned topic areas, providing strategic communications counsel to senior‑level executives
- Manage proactive media engagement – including launches, milestones, and executive spokesperson opportunities – and reactive media inquiries and issues
- Build and implement scalable mechanisms (playbooks, toolkits, calendars, processes) to coordinate B2C communications programmes across up to 29 countries
- Collaborate with US comms counterparts and global leads to align on worldwide strategies, messaging, and timing
- Coordinate with third‑party business partners, brands, and customers on announcements and joint initiatives
- Write and manage approvals for press materials, statements, talking points, and external messaging
- Track industry trends, competitive landscape, and media sentiment to inform strategy and identify opportunities
- Contribute to team‑wide planning processes including quarterly business reviews, annual planning, and cross‑functional inputs
