Description Shift Supervisor / Workshop Team Leader Location: Derby £18.00 - £22.00 per hour £200/month Supervisor Allowance Rotating Shifts | Full-Time, Permanent Alternate fixed shift option available Loads of overtime available at 1.5x Rate The Opportunity We're looking for a hands-on Shift Supervisor / Workshop Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of a busy HGV workshop in Derby. Whether you're a seasoned senior tech ready to step into leadership, or an experienced supervisor looking for more structure and progression-this could be your next move. You'll be responsible for leading a team of technicians, maintaining workshop flow, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, on time, and to high standards. The Shift Pattern Week 1: Monday to Friday - 06:00 to 14:30 Week 2: Tuesday to Friday - 06:00 to 14:30 Saturday - 06:00 to 13:00 Week 3: Monday to Friday - 14:30 to Midnight Alternatively, there is an option for a permanent late shift if preferred. What You'll Be Doing Leading a team of technicians across shift patterns Managing daily workloads and allocating jobs efficiently Supporting and mentoring junior staff Ensuring health & safety, compliance, and quality control measures are met Providing hands-on support when needed and resolving technical issues Communicating clearly with Service Advisors and Parts teams to maintain workshop flow What You'll Need Strong background as a qualified HGV Technician or Workshop Supervisor Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) Previous experience in a leadership or team lead role is ideal Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to manage deadlines, workflow, and technician performance Why Apply?
