We are seeking a Responsible Clinician to oversee up to 23 patients in a low‑secure rehabilitation inpatient setting. This role involves directing patient care, supervising junior medical staff, managing administrative duties, and contributing to organisational planning.
Responsibilities
* Provide Responsible Clinician duties to up to 23 low‑secure rehabilitation in‑patients.
* Manage, appraise, and give professional supervision to junior medical staff in accordance with Trust policies.
* Assess competences under the Health Education England framework.
* Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care.
* Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, and submit records promptly.
* Participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and the wider mental health service.
* Take part in annual consultancy appraisals.
* Attend and participate in the Trust academic programme.
* Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Approved Clinician Status, and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
* Participate annually in a job‑plan review with the clinical manager.
* Work with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery and share clinical input with consultant colleagues.
* Comply with the Trust’s policies, procedures, standing orders and financial instructions.
* Assume the role of RC, take clinical responsibility for in‑patients, and lead the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver Care Programme Approach review meetings.
* Maintain approval as an Approved Clinician under Section 12 of the MHA 1983 (amended 2007).
* Be involved in out‑of‑hours on‑call at Rochdale for general adult working‑age patients.
* Maintain high standards of CPD and meet Royal College of Psychiatrists requirements.
* Participate and contribute to Clinical Governance, Quality Improvement and supervision trainees.
