About the Role
As Team Manager, you will:

• Offer regular, reflective professional supervision and ensure staff have effective development plans
• Oversee team performance, using data to track progress, identify issues and drive improvement
• Ensure statutory work, including assessments, visits and reviews, is completed to a high standard and within required timescales
• Allocate work appropriately and ensure that children’s plans are focused, purposeful and regularly reviewed
• Support safe and effective recruitment, helping to maintain a stable and skilled workforce
• Manage delegated elements of the staffing budget and ensure financial decisions remain within agreed limits
• Work closely with partner agencies, internal teams and external organisations to achieve joined up, consistent support for children and families
• Keep up to date with legislation, guidance, research and best practice to maintain strong professional standards
• Deputise for senior managers when required and support service-wide development projects

• A consistent and reliable point of contact
• A good listener who is honest, approachable and focused
• Someone who understands their needs and takes action on their views
• A professional who is resourceful, realistic and committed to doing what you say you will do

About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
• A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
• Strong post qualifying experience within children’s services, ideally including work with disabled children
• Proven experience supervising and developing social workers and other staff
• A solid understanding of statutory frameworks, safeguarding practice and relevant legislation
• The ability to interpret complex information and make clear, evidence based decisions
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Commitment to equality, diversity, professional standards and continuous development
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Additional Benefits
• £7,000 market premia paid monthly
• £3,000 annual retention payment each April after one year in post
• Opportunities for professional development and leadership training
• Supportive management structure
