Job Description:
This is a part-time opportunity for 22.5 hours per week, covering 3 days including Thursday and Friday, plus one other negotiable day. Salary will be pro-rata for part-time hours.
This role is a 6-month fixed-term contract or secondment, ideal for an experienced Social Worker seeking to develop into a senior role with leadership responsibilities.
The Opportunity
Join our neighbourhood team in North Essex, working with adults 18+ with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, or frailty. As a Senior Social Worker, you'll handle complex cases, assess social care needs, and support individuals to live independently using a strength-based approach. You will supervise staff and collaborate with managers to improve team processes.
About the Role
Support adults and their families with complex needs, ensuring safeguarding and promoting independence. Manage your own caseload, conduct assessments, develop care plans, and participate in statutory reviews and multi-agency meetings.
Your Responsibilities:
* Collaborate across agencies for a joined-up approach.
* Lead case conferences, court attendances, and statutory reviews.
* Develop expertise and lead in specific practice areas.
About You
Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration or qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration. Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience, with knowledge of The Care Act. AMHP, BIA, or PE qualification or intention to qualify is preferred.
Proactive, experienced in complex cases, supportive of team development, and capable of mentoring colleagues. Strong understanding of adult social care legislation and practice.
Experience in chairing multi-agency meetings, building partnerships, and managing risk is essential.

* Decision-making skills and risk management.
Role involves travel around Essex; a driving license or alternative mobility means is essential.
