Overview
As a Coordinator - Lettings Young People, you will play a vital role in our Young People's Supported Accommodation Service in Plymouth, ensuring that referrals are handled with care, efficiency, and a person-centred approach. Build open, trusting relationships with young people, colleagues, and partner agencies.
Responsibilities
* Manage and triage incoming referrals, allocating placements based on individual needs and aspirations.
* Maintain accurate, confidential records including risk assessments and case notes.
* Respond to enquiries via phone and email, signposting to alternative services where appropriate.
* Conduct readiness assessments using a strengths-based approach.
* Liaise with partner agencies throughout the referral process.
* Ensure safeguarding and promote the welfare of young people and adults at risk.
* Contribute to multi-agency meetings, including minute-taking and information sharing.
* Create effective networking relationships to achieve positive outcomes.

Role Details
This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday. You can be based anywhere in Cornwall as you will be working across the region.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups. Appointment to this role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

* Excellent administrative skills.
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject such as youth work, health and social care, coaching, mental health, housing, or ability to work towards.
* Understanding, or experience, of issues surrounding young people and/or homelessness and an awareness of associated risk management: alcohol and substance misuse, mental health, self-harm, offending behaviour.
* Resilient with the ability to be open and responsive to the changing needs of young people and commissioners of the service.
* Confident in dealing with a wide range of people, able to read and assess difficult situations and provide solutions.
* Lone worker safety and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with service users, professionals and others.
* Effective organisational skills and ability to manage competing demands.
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and the ability to develop a culture of openness and trust.
* Good IT skills with excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Desirable: Awareness of coaching approaches.
* Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of housing related support and housing management services.
* Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted supported accommodation regulations 2023.
* Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory and voluntary services.
