Summary
We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic / Fitter to join our team in Weymouth. This role is vital in maintaining and repairing our fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles, Plant and Machinery
Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure safety and compliance.
* Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles.
* Replace faulty parts and perform necessary adjustments.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
* Collaborate with team members to improve repair processes.
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
* Assist in the installation of new equipment or modifications as required.
* Qualifications
* Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or Fitter.
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
* Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues efficiently.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Relevant certifications or qualifications in vehicle repair or mechanics.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards related to vehicle maintenance.
