We are seeking an experienced Associate Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist to join our team in Sheffield or Manchester. About you: The ideal candidate should possess a degree in civil engineering or geology, as well as a postgraduate qualification in a geotechnical subject. Additionally, they should ideally have a minimum of three years of experience post-chartered status, either as a geologist or civil engineer. We are seeking individuals with the right skills and abilities to help us expand our geotechnical infrastructure capability. The successful candidate will join our rapidly expanding, flexible, and outward-looking team, which can handle work across various sectors. Experience in leading Geotechnical Design Projects for large infrastructure projects. Extensive experience in the UK highways sector, including National Highways Geotechnical Certification projects. A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent as a minimum). Ideally chartered (CEng or CGeol) or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of competence. Proven experience of acting in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment and the ability to develop and lead design teams. Project management - experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, work planning and commercial management. Proven geotechnical design experience. Competent in use of leading geotechnical design software (GEO5, Oasys suite, GeoStudio, Plaxis, etc.) Application of CDM Regulations in a design and ground investigation environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and confidence to liaise with clients. Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work (particular emphasis on preparation of Geotechnical Design Reports). A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas. A valid UK driving licence.
