We have an opportunity for a Business Support Officer, Statutory Services, working within Corporate Operations, Business and Executive Support, District Children and Families, based at The Old House, Lichfield. The role may require occasional work from Burntwood Library.
This is a full-time, permanent position. Working hours are Monday-Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm. The post is mainly office-based with some home working on a rota, depending on service demands.
The successful candidate will provide high-level business support to assist Social Work Practitioners across multiple teams. Business Support is vital to the success of Children’s Services, ensuring smooth operations so frontline colleagues can focus on delivering services to Children and Families. This role involves dedicated work behind the scenes, requiring pride and purpose in your tasks.
Main Responsibilities
The role includes providing core business functions, collaborating with Team Managers, Social Workers, professionals, and partners. Responsibilities include attending and servicing statutory meetings across districts.
Requirements include full knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to utilize its main applications. Tasks involve chasing professionals for paperwork to meet deadlines, inputting and sharing data, maintaining database accuracy through data cleansing, and possibly handling financial transactions. There may also be opportunities to support broader office functions to ensure effective business support services.
The Ideal Candidate
Candidates should demonstrate teamwork, strong organizational skills, and IT competency. Essential qualifications include:
* NVQ Level III in Business Administration or equivalent
* IT qualification equivalent to ICDL Advanced (L3) or similar
Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting with internal and external stakeholders via phone, in person, and email. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines are crucial. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities are valued, along with a passion for delivering excellent service.
