The Role The successful candidate will take responsibility for one of the school's Year 6 classes, guiding pupils through their final year of primary education and ensuring they are fully prepared - academically and emotionally - for the transition to secondary school. Key responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge all learners. Preparing pupils effectively for Key Stage 2 SATs, ensuring they make strong progress across reading, writing, and mathematics. Using assessment data to identify next steps, support targeted interventions, and celebrate success. Creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes resilience, independence, and curiosity. Working closely with the parallel Year 6 teacher to share planning, moderation, and best practice. Communicating effectively with parents and carers to build strong partnerships that support pupil progress and well-being. Contributing to the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and whole-school events.
