Accountant / Account Manager - Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Compliance
* Review bookkeeping (payroll, CIS, VAT) and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
* Prepare and finalise statutory accounts (FRS 105/FRS 102).
* Review trial balances, control accounts, and Self-Assessment returns.
* Manage statutory deadlines and communication with relevant authorities.
Advisory & Advanced Accounting
* Improve accounting systems and workflows; recommend automation tools.
* Support tax planning (director remuneration, dividends, structure).
* Implement internal controls and contribute to KPI development.
Management & Leadership
* Supervise and mentor junior staff.
* Manage workflows and review outputs to meet deadlines.
* Support operational planning, recruitment, training, and process improvement.
Client Engagement
* Act as primary contact for client queries.
* Build strong client relationships through clear communication and proactive insight.
* Present financial information in a clear, strategic manner.

Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
* 3+ years in UK practice.
* Strong Xero experience; solid knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT, CIS, PAYE.
* Proven experience with statutory and management accounts.
* Experience supervising staff.
