As a Special School Teacher, you will: Plan and deliver highly personalised, multi-sensory learning experiences in line with The Bridge School curriculum and individual pupil EHCP’s Demonstrate small step progress for pupils with severe and profound learning needs Support pupils with communication, sensory needs, physical needs, and emotional regulation Work collaboratively with other staff, professionals and families Use approaches such as Makaton, AAC, Intensive Interaction, and other interventions/sensory-based learning Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued Plan and support pupils on educational visits Be flexible and confident in working at any of The Bridge School sites as required to meet the needs of the school We are looking for someone who: Holds QTS (or equivalent/working towards) Is caring, patient and committed to supporting pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties. Is a resilient and reliable individual Can work collaboratively with families, health professionals, and colleagues Is adaptable, creative, and able to respond to pupils’ individual needs Is willing to learn specialist skills and approaches used within the school Has experience in SEN settings or working with pupils with a wide range of needs (Desirable but not essential) Can work confidently across different sites within the school community What we offer: A warm, supportive, and highly skilled staff team Excellent professional development in SEND practice.
