Offer description

Are you passionate about tackling homelessness and supporting vulnerable individuals? We’re looking for a dedicated professional to lead our efforts in providing housing solutions and preventing homelessness. If you have experience in housing services and a commitment to making a real impact, we want to hear from you!

The Housing Needs Team (currently known as Homelessness & Housing Advice) prioritizes preventing households from becoming homeless wherever possible. We also provide general housing advice and assess entitlement to housing for those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

Where homelessness can’t be prevented, the team manages a stock of 200 Temporary and Emergency accommodation units across Warrington. This includes void management and tenancy support services to help clients maintain their tenancy whilst in Temporary Accommodation, leading to a settled home.

The role

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that effective tenancy management is delivered across the homelessness temporary accommodation service, alongside the effective allocation of commissioned supported accommodation provision.

The role will directly lead a team of officers responsible for delivering our Rough Sleeping Strategy, assessing and supporting clients with specialist needs, such as asylum seekers and refugees, and those who may be subject to a probation order/licence.

About us

We are committed to tackling homelessness and supporting vulnerable individuals. Our team focuses on providing housing solutions and preventing homelessness.

What’s needed?

* A minimum of three years’ experience working within homelessness or supporting vulnerable adults and families.
* Experience in tenancy management, including allocations, anti-social behaviour, and person-centred support services.
* Educated to GCSE level or above with a relevant qualification in housing or homelessness, such as the Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4, or willingness to work towards.
* Knowledge of related areas such as Criminal Justice, Domestic Abuse, Children and Adult Social Care, Safeguarding, immigration, and trafficking/slavery.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, benefits include:

* 26 days annual holiday, increasing to 31 after 5 years of service (pro-rata).
* Access to attractive and competitive benefits package.
* Participation in our Health & Wellbeing Programme.

Key Dates & Further Information

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, with flexible working options. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.

The successful candidate will participate in a 24-hour out-of-hours escalation rota to support Housing Needs Officers.

For an informal chat, contact Andrew Marsden (Interim Housing Needs Manager) at 01925 443879 or email andrew.marsden@warrington.gov.uk.

Applicants must evidence their right to work in the UK before employment begins. Sponsorship is not available. The ability to communicate effectively in English is essential.
