Key Account Manager - East Midlands and East of England

What you will do:
We are seeking a driven, commercially astute Key Account Manager to lead the growth of our promoted and generic product portfolio across key hospital accounts. This role is ideal for a high-performing hospital specialist who thrives on building strategic relationships, influencing clinical decision-makers, and delivering exceptional sales results within the NHS environment.
You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue targets through the effective implementation of territory and hospital account plans. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to build sustainable partnerships with clinicians, pharmacists, procurement teams, and other key stakeholders across secondary care.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Achieve and exceed agreed sales and performance objectives.
* Develop and execute robust territory and account plans aligned with product and organisational strategy.
* Identify and capitalise on business opportunities to drive market share and deliver added value to customers.
* Maximise sales across both promoted brands and the wider generic portfolio.
* Collaborate with medical, marketing, and commercial colleagues to deliver impactful initiatives.
* Build, maintain, and develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and local KOLs.
* Utilise internal expertise (medical, marketing, BI, contract compliance) to strengthen account performance.
* Maintain accurate, high-quality CRM records and share relevant insights with the business.
* Monitor territory expenditure, ensuring budget adherence and clear ROI.
* Ensure all activities comply with ABPI and company SOPs.
About you:
You are detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You enjoy collaborating and achieving win-win solutions with strong influencing skills. A strategic thinker with sound reasoning and problem-solving combined with effective planning and organisational ability, including CRM utilisation.
Basic skills and qualifications:
* Previous experience in a pharmaceutical sales role for a minimum of 3 years ABPI qualified.
* Life science degree or demonstrable experience.
* Proven success in a hospital sales role, ideally involving pathway adoption and multi-stakeholder engagement.
* Strong track record of top sales performance and commercial drive.
* Deep understanding of NHS prescribing, reimbursement, funding, and formulary processes.
* Demonstrable experience influencing and developing Key Opinion Leaders.
* Up-to-date knowledge of therapy areas, competitor landscape, and the evolving NHS environment.
* Understanding of hospital contracting, guidelines processes, and financial pathways.
* Ability to present clinical and financial data confidently using tools such as Excel.
