Teaching Personnel’s PWR team is recruiting a committed and practical Motor Mechanics Tutor for a specialist provision in Mildenhall supporting pupils aged 11–16 with complex needs. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity from September 2025, ideally suited for someone with industry experience and a passion for helping disengaged learners re-connect with education through vocational pathways.
About the Role
You will play a vital role in delivering a tailored motor mechanics curriculum, helping young people develop core skills, confidence, and employability. Working in a small, supportive environment with excellent staff-to-student ratios, you’ll help create meaningful outcomes for pupils through:
Delivering BTEC Motor Vehicle qualifications and contributing to broader vocational studies
Planning and delivering accessible, engaging lessons in a fully equipped workshop setting
Personalising learning to meet the needs and potential of each pupil
Supporting learners in managing behaviour and building emotional resilience
Contributing to a curriculum that blends practical learning with social and emotional development
What We're Looking For
We welcome applicants from both education and industry backgrounds. You will ideally have:
A sector-recognised qualification or proven experience in motor vehicle maintenance
Experience teaching, coaching, or training groups (formal teaching experience not essential)
A positive, patient and flexible approach to behaviour management
A strong understanding of the needs of pupils with SEMH, ASD, or other SEND
A commitment to inclusive education and pupil-centred progress
