Job Description:

Status: Permanent

Working hours: 33.75 hours, Monday-Friday

Working Days: 215 Days

Salary: Full-time salary starting at £21,811.56


Humberston Park School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An Enhanced DBS certificate will be required (Child and Adult Workforce) as will ID documentation which shows the Right to Work in the UK.

We are looking for people who like to go home knowing they have made a real difference for our brilliant pupils. Were seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals who demonstrate curiosity, empathy, and commitment, and are passionate about supporting young people aged 1116 with severe and complex physical and medical SEND

Can you make a difference?

Do you have a keen interest in how young people with complex SEND learn, grow and communicate, particularly during key stages 3 and 4?

Do you have good understanding of how to support emotional wellbeing, social development and growing independence during adolescence?

Do you have a willingness to undertake training and confidently carry out daily health and care routines with dignity and sensitivity?

Do you have a genuine interest in preparation for adulthood, including supporting life skills, self-advocacy, functional numeracy/literacy, and independent living tasks?

Do you have knowledge of / interest in total communication approaches?

Do you have a strong interest in working alongside teachers, therapists, nurses and families, contributing to transdisciplinary, person-centred support?

Do you have enthusiasm for supporting young people with emotional regulation, recognising communication through behaviour?

Do you understand how to build trust, routine, and emotional safety?

Do you have a firm commitment to safeguarding, privacy, and safe working practices, including supporting personal and intimate care with professionalism and respect?

The role of our Specialist Teaching Assistant is highly rewarding and challenging, and gives you the opportunities to be part of an amazing education and therapy team, access comprehensive and specialist training and professionally recognised career development pathways towards teaching and leadership. Alongside traditional full-time working hours, we also welcome those seeking more flexible, part-time working patterns with a variety of different hours and days to suit all.
