Role: Junior IT Support Technician Location: Dorking (with hybrid working) Some occasional travel to other offices for support activities or divisional meetings as required. Salary: Circa £30,000 Unum UK is seeking an Junior IT Support Technician to join our Modern Workplace team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career—whether you have around a year of experience in a Service Desk or tech support environment, or you’ve built solid foundational IT skills and are ready to take the next step. Working as part of the Modern Workplace team, you will help deliver reliable, secure, and user-friendly digital services by providing technical assistance, performing routine maintenance tasks, and supporting internal users with day-to-day technology needs. You will play a key role in supporting the operation of the organisation’s modern workplace, end-user technology. If you are a curious, collaborative team player who’s eager to learn and grow, this is an excellent opportunity. What will you bring? What you’ll do Provide technical support to colleagues in person, at the Tech Bar, and remotely – helping with hardware, software, and collaboration tools. Assist with the setup, installation, and configuration of laptops, mobile devices, peripherals Support Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook and Teams, guiding users through common issues Support meeting room technologies, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, basic AV troubleshooting, and presentation equipment (with guidance) Assist with Microsoft Teams Live Events to enable smoot business communications Support onboarding new starters/offboarding and, troubleshooting issues About you A positive, adaptable approach and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Confident communicator with a strong customer‑focused mindset. Some experience in a Service Desk or IT support environment is helpful, but not essential if you have the right aptitude and enthusiasm.
