We are seeking a professional and experienced Night Hygiene Supervisor to join our Hygiene team. In this role, you will coordinate the Hygiene team to safely deliver hygiene procedures and methodologies, ensuring that the Manufacturing facility meets all regulatory standards and customer (internal and external) expectations for the site. You will maintain and develop hygiene systems and documentation that control and drive the standards required by Hilton and our retail customers. Additionally, you will facilitate and manage the implementation and ongoing requirements of the HFG Health & Safety framework. Support for sister sites in Grimsby may be required as well.
Responsibilities include:
1. Identifying hygiene requirements by monitoring changes in the production environment to ensure safe food delivery in compliance with regulatory, retailer COPs, and industry best practices.
2. Instructing Kersia (chemical supplier) on any changes required to the CICs and associated schedules via the 'Gateway' system.
3. Verifying Post Hygiene standards through visual inspections, audits, and environmental & allergen swabbing; recording results and implementing SMART preventative actions for any non-conformance. Timely closing of audits and trending results weekly/monthly.
4. Managing the day-to-day operation of the Hygiene shift to ensure proper staffing and smooth handover to Operations.
5. Understanding microbiology and implications of Out Of Spec Environmental and Listeria swabbing; conducting investigations on OOS results using Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence.
6. Ensuring hygiene documentation and data are accurately maintained on the 'Gateway' system for easy retrieval.
7. Delivering training and mentoring to team members to develop skills, knowledge, and understanding, aiming to build a high-performing, motivated hygiene team that challenges the status quo for continuous improvement.
8. Assisting Hygiene Management in risk assessments for new equipment, ensuring appropriate training and CIC documentation from Kersia.
9. Building strong working relationships across departments to ensure efficient hygiene operations with minimal disruption to production.
10. Collaborating with the chemical supplier on site audits and supporting the implementation of recommendations.
11. Managing headcount within budget, controlling chemical usage, water controls, and PPE; indirectly contributing to production efficiency and reducing downtime related to hygiene issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant role.
* Knowledge of industrial deep cleaning procedures.
* Supervisory skills.
* COSHH experience, particularly handling and use of chemicals.
* Experience in manual handling procedures.
* Health & Safety awareness.
* Chemical Awareness Training.
* Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
* Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification.
