A leading organisation within aplex engineering and manufacturing environment is seeking a Subcontracts Manager /mercial Specialist to support the delivery of critical programmes. Working within a cross-functional team, this job will take ownership of subcontractor selection,mercialernance, and performance management to ensure successful project oues.
Your new role
1. Developing subcontract requirements and managing subcontractor selection in collaboration with engineering and project teams
2. Managing all subcontract documentation, data, and reporting accurately and to agreed timelines
3. Negotiating subcontract terms, pricing, and contractual agreements, resolving conflicts and ensuring fullpliance
4. Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, including payments, claims, warranties, and contract amendments
5. Proactively managing subcontractor performance against cost, schedule, quality, and KPI requirements
6. Managing subcontract variations, minimisingmercial and delivery impacts through clearmunication
7. Identifying and mitigating emerging risks, including those within subcontractors’ supply chains
8. Building strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated interface with subcontractors
9. Undertaking occasional travel to supplier sites within the UK and overseas
What you'll need to succeed
10. Experience in subcontract, project, and/ormercial management roles
11. Proven ability to develop and negotiateplex contracts with customers or suppliers
12. Track record of successfully delivering major subcontract obligations
13. Background withinplex engineering or manufacturing environments (ideally defence and/or aerospace sectors)
14. Relevant qualifications such as a degree in engineering, manufacturing, or amercial discipline, or a professional procurement or project management certification
15. Knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, or opticalmodities
16. Eligibility for security clearance
