Working in the Asset Management team of Housing Services, the main purpose of this role is to inspect homes and land and order repair and void works using a designated schedule of rates or seeking appropriate quotations and agreeing variations to orders with the Council’s contractors. Other responsibilities will include: Seeking appropriate quotations where required. Agreeing variations to orders raised. Undertaking surveys to ensure the Councils stock condition information is maintained and updated. Undertake post inspections following repair or void works to ensure works have been completed as ordered and satisfactory standard. Provide information, guidance and written reports where necessary. Liaise with Technical and Compliance teams to ensure the effective maintenance of the Council’s homes to the Decent Homes Standard. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential as you liaise with customers, clients and contractors to ensure work is undertaken and completed satisfactorily and on a timely basis whilst ensuring that the Council, its tenants and leaseholders are receiving value for money and a customer focussed service. Candidates must have a relevant qualification in a trade related discipline such as a HNC Building Studies, NVQ L2 or C&G, or significant experience in a relevant building trade. Knowledge of housing repair standards and legislation e.g. Right to Repair, Decent Homes Standard/HHSRS and experience of using a Schedule of Rates and software based systems to raise or manage works orders would be hugely beneficial. The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
