Job Summary
The post holder will deliver basic practice nursing services to the practice population. Working with senior nurses they will provide patient care within their role, focusing on supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring long‑term conditions, and delivering health prevention and screening. Collaboration with the general practice team ensures delivery of policy and procedures and nurse leadership as required.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration and revalidation.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Ability to work without direct supervision.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience in cervical cytology.
* Experience in childhood and travel vaccinations.
Experience
* At least 1 year of experience working in a general practice.
* Experience with treatment‑room duties and clinical governance.
* Knowledge of QOF and KPIs.
* Experience in chronic disease management.

o Experience with venepuncture, ECG, wound care, adult/child vaccination and immunisation.

Responsibilities
* Promote health and well‑being, preventing adverse health effects.
* Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with known long‑term conditions.
* Identify and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of long‑term conditions.
* Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately, including emergency care initiation.
* Support patients to adhere to prescribed treatments.
* Encourage health promotion strategies and self‑care.
* Deliver opportunistic health promotion, e.g., during new‑patient medicals.
* Assess and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds.
* Support and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultations.
* Implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for adults and children.
* Advise, support and administer vaccinations for patients travelling abroad.

Additional Information
