We’re looking for a Traffic Management Officer to join our TTRO team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supervising the activities of Traffic Management Technicians and providing expert advice on the interpretation and application of relevant policies, technical principles, and legislation. What you’ll be doing: Leading and supporting a team of Traffic Management Technicians in the coordination and delivery of TTROs across the Westmorland and Furness road network. Overseeing the processing of applications for road closures and temporary restrictions to support highway improvements, utility works, and public events. Coordinating with applicants, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure safe and effective traffic management. Supporting the delivery of over 1,000 TTROs annually, helping to keep communities connected and the local economy moving. Providing technical guidance and advice to Members, colleagues, and stakeholders on traffic management legislation and best practice. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal procedures. Who we are looking for… Has experience in traffic management or highways, with a strong understanding of TTROs and relevant legislation Demonstrates leadership, is highly organised and detail-oriented Communicates clearly and confidently with a range of stakeholders, including Members and senior officers Has a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and other IT systems to track and manage applications.
