The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with special educational needs. You will implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs), providing targeted one-to-one or small-group support. You will also work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive coordinated and effective support.
Your role will include promoting pupils’ independence, resilience, and confidence, helping them to thrive in all aspects of school life. Observing, recording, and reporting pupil progress is an essential part of the role, as is fostering positive relationships with colleagues and families.
